Top 3 Safe Neighborhoods in Memphis
Never been to Memphis before? I’m sure you’ve heard it all about the city:
“Don’t go to Memphis…its dangerous” or “I’ve watched the first 48…I know what goes on in that city”.
Here’s the truth: Memphis is an amazing city, full of life and American history. Crime is present in every major US city, and Memphis is no different.
Memphis has many thriving and safe neighborhoods for travelers and others to pass through.
Here are the top 3 safest (and best) neighborhoods in Memphis:
Cooper:
Young-One of my favorite neighborhoods in Memphis. It’s super welcoming to LGBTQAI+ community and has some of the best restaurants in the city (i.e. go to Alchemy for craft cocktails and Mulan for the best sushi)
Midtown/Medical District:
technically cooper young is a part of midtown, but Midtown holds great areas for entertainment and living. Also, you’re close to Methodist University, Regional One (we call it The Med…old Memphian’s will call it John Gastin), the VA and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital
Downtown:
St. Jude is located downtown, along with historic Beale Street, the Fedex Forum (Go Grizz! Whoop that Trick!)
Sherwood Properties provides furnished apartments and corporate rentals for traveling medical professionals located in Midtown.
